March 14, 2010 at 1:01 PMdarkstar94, does the first part of your sentence really imply the past? I read that as "(at the time) When you go to Xi'an..." Then you would continue: "do you take the train?" Even if it was more explicitly in the past, I think once you have established that timeframe, you could still use 你坐了火车吗？without a 了. I can't find any examples to back that up, though :-)

Yes, the document I was reading was her 'travel diary' of her stay here in the US (she's from 广州）to help other people from our company that come here to the US for travel. My first 'hit' in Pleco for 驴 was 'ass', the technical name for donkey... but the words ass and friend together in English might lead one astray :-) Thanks again, and interested in anyone else's experience with the word.

March 4, 2010 at 3:12 AMI realize this is an older lesson, but this seems like the most likely comment page to ask my question... can anyone tell me about the word 驴友 ? My friend used it in her writing, and I got a little idea of the meaning and some internet searching gives me the impression it is a term for hiking/backpacking, etc. Some aspects of self-guided scenic travel, perhaps some "green" overtones? Anyway, I presume it doesnt really mean donkey friend :-) so how would you translate that? (and my web hits also often have the word "Mix" in there, too. Is that related, or a club or something. (I see a hostel in Chendu, for example) Thanks, guys!

March 19, 2011 at 11:05 PMUp until QW 60, they never did PDFs for the QinWen podcasts. The automated system still creates a blank link for them, though... so what you see is all thats available.
However, if you read through the comments of the earlier QW's, some people used to transcribe the vocabulary and post it to the comments section, sometimes the hosts would type out the examples, too.
Not as good or consistant as the recent pdfs, but thats whats available!
