May 18, 2008 at 6:24 AMYea!!!! great lesson and very important language. OK thats is purely my opinion. although the old 不要 (bù yào) on one occasion did get a "Oh you speak Chinese?" and a flick on the chest of cigarette ash. May be he was having a bad day???? They are persistent sales people though running against traffic to catch up with you. Wow gotta give them some credit. Roller skates anyone???

May 18, 2008 at 6:34 AMpdq123 My Understanding By dictionary definition 小姐 (xiǎo jie) means "young lady; miss." But from local Shànghǎi (上海) knowledge it is also used as a term / slang for a prostitute. I guess a "Lady of the night" kind of thing??
