I live in Beijing. These guys work 12-18 hour days, 7 days a week, and they don't call them 师傅 （master) for nothing. The chances of you making that same drive on your own, in one piece, are pretty close to zero.
As a rule, Chinese people don't tip taxi drivers - but YOU SHOULD. (IMVHO)

They did a nice job on the weather, though!!

May 8, 2009 at 11:42 AMFWIW, hotels in China are taking a beating in this economy, with occupancy rates in the 20%-30% range. I live in Beijing and visit Shanghai about one per month. I generally stay at the Westin Bund Center (nice place). But I am finding that a call in advance to hotel managers can result in impressive discounts off of published rates, even (maybe especially) at the 5-star properties.

the better translation would be "our class considers him the smallest".
IMO.
在我們班他是最小 would be "he is the smallest in our class"

On the iPhone, I use Pleco a lot and lately have been trying to use their optical character reader (OCR), but I find this to be very tricky to use (holding the phone still enough and getting the target area right are problems).
One thing I have noticed over the years is that I disagree with a lot of the English translations of Chinese terms that have become the default answer in dictionaries. 没有直接翻译 seems to be the right answer more often than not!
