July 30, 2007 at 5:29 AMI am in China teaching English, and when I first arrived here I didn't know any Chinese. I went to the store and bought a few packets of meat, some I knew and some I did not. One packet, I opened and it smelt extremely unusual. I searched on the back for some sign of what it was before I ate it, and it turned out to be dog meat. I promptly threw it in the garbage... no dog meat for me. Thanks.

January 20, 2008 at 12:29 PMI am proud to announce that my apartment building is plastered with no smoking signs(in China). Not that anyone follows the rules, but it's at least a start. The worst interaction I have with smoking in China (being a non smoker). Is when I went to the locker room at my local gym the room was covered with a dense cloud of smoke. A great way to begin and end your workout!
