October 27, 2007 at 2:46 AMQuestion, I found at the exercise 我也喜欢喝南瓜汤 (I also like to drink pumpkin soup) instead of 我也喜欢吃南瓜汤 (I also like to eat pumpkin soup). Anyone can advise which expression in Chinese correct? I think we eat soup not drink because we use supoon to scoup it and put it into mouth. henry from Korea

July 25, 2007 at 12:31 AMHuomao, I found no one has yet answered to you question on your question "只怕有心人," 我不理解为什么用"怕" "怕" means "be afraid of" or "fear" and "只" means "only" and "有心" means "with a willingness or a will or to set minds on" so "有心人" means "the person with a will". Altogther "只怕有心人," means "Only fear the person with a will" “天下无难事，只怕有心人” There is nothing in the world so hard but fear only the person with a will. Emphasize the point that person's will is more important than the things in the world. Amber has translate the meaning altogether not by sentence by sentence but with the point to make overall.
