When I was away from my laveder field in Provence, Amber , you always brought the fragrance back to life through your presence on chinesepod. I shall carry the memory of your happy voice and chuckle with me through life .

Amber , Could you find room on your show to reveal some of the funniest transliterations used from English to Chinese . I live in Provence which become PLLLLovence in Chinese . My Favourite though is from the world of Formula I . Fellali!

Also ... when visiting make sure you know the prescription for your reading glasses . I lost my specs and had a reading test at an optician's but I couldn't read the Hanzi characters the optician showed me!

I'm a newcomer and enjoy this extra dimension to C pod .. it's fun and informative . On my first trip to Shanghai I answered all the questions mentioned above and then felt free to ask some of my own . The guy had said , knowing I was English that he loved England .I therefore asked what he liked best . He reflected just a moment then replied .. " Because your rain is cleaner than ours!"

I'm confused now about the use of guo to denote an action in the past; I thought that " ni chifan le ma? meant have you eaten ? and that ni chi guo mianbao ma.?. meant have you EVER eaten noodles ... ? Can someone help me on this ?
