Thanks for the shapes, and "sandwich". I teach English here in China, and I've noticed that after years of studying English in school, adults here also don't know shapes! Or when we talk about giving directions and I say "cross (the street) diagonally" they all say "OH! THAT's how to say that!" and they furiously write it down. Here are some that get overlooked:
horizontal, vertical, diagonal
basic math operations like "divided by, times, etc"
fractions
yawn, sneeze, burp, vomit/puke/throw up
bubbles (in soda or blowing them with gum).
It's so much fun to come across these small simple things we learned in kindergarten but don't have to say as adults!
