What would be the best way to deflect praise whilst using phrases which native chinese do?

The phrases in this lesson are useful even though I don't plan to buy any handbags (unless if my girlfriend suddenly sends me on a paid shopping trip to China^^)

Di Lu makes me laugh. "Is that Chinglish?" hahah. She sounds irritated. Also it's the first time I have ever heard the term 'Chinlish' being used.

I like the way Chinesepod pronounces VPN the chinese way. It will allows speakers to be understood when speaking to Chinese to Chinese people. I am in Thailand now and when I order a hamburger the way westerners would say is 'correct' , I confuse the waiter. When I pronounce it with a Thai accent, I get exactly what I intended to order^^

I am studying that book too. Am currently on chapter six. It is so helpful! Love this book! I also wanna know what level it would be in the new system. Does anyone who has done the HSK test found it useful? Do the phrases and vocabulary in the test help you deal with day to day situations living in China/talking with native chinese speakers? My aim is to be able to speak to chinese people rather than to further my studies in China. Or am I better off learning from chinesepod and forget taking the HSK altogether?

great lesson. Is it possible to have scripts for the sample lessons too?
