Well if we're gonna play the food porn game, then I would like to submit this mouth-watering photo of 小笼包, and don't forget: you have to eat them with vinegar!

Thanks for your comment. We have the sound engineering team looking into the cause of this problem.

It's correct. The word being spoken is: 脏 zāng. Perhaps the confusion comes from hearing 脏 + 了 together...

I see a LOT of toupees here in China. And there are a lot of girls and women who wear wigs. Some because of thinning hair, some because they just think it looks cute.

To address the issue of spammers: this is an unfortunate reality and we try to delete spam as fast as it appears. The most recent users in question have been blocked for violating our comments policy, despite warnings sent to them by our CRM team (ads for language exchange partners are only allowed in community posts, not on lesson conversation pages). Unfortunately these last spammers left comments at night, China time. We addressed them as soon as we could.

To address the threading issue, introducing threaded comments was meant to make it easier for users to participate in and follow conversations of interest to them. The other benefits of the threaded comments will become apparent when we launch our new student dashboard next week. Please check out John's most recent blog post to find out more about this exciting project.

I have a friend who won't shave his beard here in China (or goatee, as the case may be) because when he didn't have facial hair people kept insisting he looked like Harry Potter! (for the record he looks nothing like Harry Potter, although he does wear glasses)

Hape is correct. I have sent you an email regarding this policy. Please add pinyin and/or translations above or I will have to take the comment down. Thanks for understanding!
