October 10, 2010 at 1:52 AMI was not as clear as I could have been yesterday - when I go to Flickr I have two options for sharing and only the 'code' option works on ChinesePod. The link did not work for me the last half dozen times I tried. In the past it has worked fine. But it's okay - I can now post photos using the 'code' option. I'm just saying that the method you and others are suggesting does not seem to work for me. But as RJ says I think we need a tutorial.
Options on Flickr: (1) grab the link; (2) grab the html code.
I copied the code for this one (now I've started on the Chinglish I can't seem to stop):

October 9, 2010 at 3:04 PMHaha - yes, very close to the first step on the moon. Not bad at all. Maybe it is even deeper than I thought, an allusion?
Anyway, 上前一小步,文明一大步 says that ... a small step forward is a big step for civilization. Okay, it does not translate well into English; that is why the translator took a liberty, perhaps in the belief that foreigners need to have it spelled out for them. The Chinese is so poetic by comparison, the intentions so pure.
Of course the floor is still a mess.

October 9, 2010 at 2:40 PMI'm more confused than ever - I can't get the code pattern to work for me here on ChinesePod, but if I take the whole html code from flickr which hosts my photos, it works. Apart from working (a big plus), it gives me size options - it seems that if you post the http:// address you have to separately enter code for sizes?
I'm confused because in the past I always posted using the http:// address - now it doesn't work for me.
I really hope that makes sense.
I'm wondering if the 'problem' is with flickr - flickr recently reviewed their site and the process of 'sharing' changed. I didn't look into it but I wonder if the changes were made for legal reasons - it is certainly no easier than before, just different.

October 9, 2010 at 2:32 PMThe 'warm tip' joke has gone cold, but I thought I'd celebrate with a rare dig at our local translators:

October 9, 2010 at 2:25 PMNo. We have 70,000 TV series on our favourite web site (free streaming) and a million sites that do the same as .. what's it called again? .. you tube. I imagine that we are being saved from ourselves, but we still have plenty of distractions.

October 9, 2010 at 1:44 PMThanks for the 'warm tip'...
umm - nope, I'm a dope. What am I doing wrong? Thought I had your instructions but apparently not.

I want to thank you blokes for taking so much trouble to communicate this tricky little device. Now I've been let back into the club I will get on to posting up some photos! I was taking close-ups today of my favourite bottle of drink here - it's okay, I am quite sober. I just have a camera fetish.
Could we ask ChinesePod to stick this up in the FAQ?? I can't keep a lot of code in my head; a lot of anything actually. I am just wondering if I need to print out this post and sticky-tape it to the wall in front of my desk.

October 8, 2010 at 10:20 AMI had to do a cull, didn't want to hog the board. :) Besides I have never seen that where I live - maybe it's a regional thing. 媒人 méirén?

October 10, 2010 at 1:59 AMI use Flickr now as it is okay this side of the firewall. Yahoo must be playing their cards right.
