The popular expression"被……“ is based on the original meaning and usage.Originally,被only can be followed by a verb,while the new pattern uses any words,like adjective(和谐）,noun(主任），etc。

据《现代汉语》解释，”被“字句原先一般是表示不如意、不希望的事情。近几十年来，它在书面语里的使用范围扩大了，表示如意的事情有事也用”被“，例如”被表扬“。最新的说法”被………“沿用了”被”原初的含义，所以被代替的无奈之意更加鲜明，所以愈来愈流行了。“被”字句本来只加动词，现在什么词都可以加了，强烈地表达那事根本不是你做的，至少不是你心甘情愿地做的或者是在你不知情的情况下做的事情。
