Hehe, I'm not saying there aren't some couples like you guys Kesirui, but honestly in the 2 years I've been in BJ, I have not once seen Chinese guy/Foreign girl couple. Yet almost daily see it the opposite way. So Chillosk, you think Chinese girls are braver then Chinese guys in approaching "intimidating" foreigners? (=

Can we switch back to the topic of what Chinese think of foreigners? I know as foreigners we often say what we think of Chinese, but I'd love to know exactly how they feel about us and the strange things WE do! Also, not to generalize, but when my brother came to visit me here in Beijing, he asked "Where are all the pretty girls?" So I think every country has their own definition of beauty. As a foreign girl...I appreciate Chillosk's observation that there are NEVER Chinese guys with foreigner girls!! It sucks! It's taken the guys at work almost a year of getting to know me before they even can say "hi". Talk about frustrating. What's the deal with that? They really don't like Western girls at all? And the wearing the SAME shirt and pants 5 days in a row at the office took me quite a while to get used to! But I gotta tell you.... sure makes it easy in the morning! I've started to do it a few days in a row myself. About foreigners with "ugly" Chinese...I am often offended at the focus on "beauty" here. "Oh i will give you this only b/c you are beautiful" or "You are a mei nu so of course whatever you want can be done!" It makes me feel that Chinese are very superficial and that they stress over and over that only pretty people can be successful. Is constant flattery a way of building up major 'face'??
