my wifes cousin gave me a chinese name she has her PHD in chinese literature. so i thought ok....

it sounds nothing like my name and i think it is going to take some getting used to.

is this a common given name?

华 (i think thats correct)

mùhuá

i like the meaning "admires china"

would my buddies call me mu for short? :)

great lesson Ken and Jenny, as usual, thanks!

my beijing wife said 我无所谓 wǒ wú suǒ wèi is not something to say to anyone you respect.

so i guess its one of those lines that depending on where its used, depends the context.

this line was used on one of my favorite podcasts instant noodles.

part of a husbands duty is to show patience during mall shopping time.

i can tell you the rewards are worth every boring second at the mall pretending to enjoy it.  :)

great lesson

WOW!!

thank you very much dunderklumpen.

thats exactly what i meant, i was afraid i didnt phrase my post correctly. its the small talk that Connie does on the side that Amber would normally translate which i found extremley helpful.
