Hi,

Can I use 休闲(casual) and 正式(formal) when referring to conversation/language?

e.g.

You need to use formal language when speaking to the Director.

A casual conversation

Thanks

A question re a sentence in the Expansion section.

明天下午开会

Why does the sentence use 要开会? I would have used 有。Can both be used interchangeably? Is there any diff?

Thanks

when should one use mei2 and bu4?

In this dialogue mei2 was used for each answer.

Can somebody provide the grammatical rule?

Thanks

A question on culture. How far should one go when sending people off, after they've been to one's house for dinner? Is it sufficient to just see them off at the door or is it more polite to walk with them to the bus stop etc.

I once visited an old lady for lunch. after lunch, despite my protest, she insisted on seeing us off at the bus stop. Another couple, wanted to walk all the way home with us.
