phil - if you download the google input editor (IME) you will find it。 囧囧囧囧。 This editor also lets you type English and Chinese without toggling back and forth and it predicts words before you finish typing them. You will figure it out。 Installs itself right into the regional languge bar in windows. Yes it is really Jiǒng.

Hi Eupnea,

A "ductless air conditioner" or "mini-split system", has two major components: a unit mounted on an inside wall that delivers cool air to the room, and a unit mounted on the outside of the house. A pair of refrigerant lines run between the two.

Yes:

今天我给大家讲一个笑话。有一个小朋友生病了,她妈妈带她去看医生。医生为了不让她紧张就指着她的鼻子问:“小朋友,这是你的耳朵吗?”小朋友看着妈妈,哭着说:“妈妈,请你给我换一个医生吧,他连哪个是耳朵,哪个是鼻子都不知道,怎么给我看病啊!"

Jīntiān wǒ gěi dàjiā jiǎng yīgè xiàohuà. Yǒu yīgè xiǎopéngyǒu shēngbìng le, tā māma dài tā qù kān yīshēng. Yīshēng wèile bú ràng tā jǐnzhāng jiù zhǐ zhāo tā de bízi wèn: "Xiǎopéngyǒu, zhè shì nǐde ěrduo mǎ?" Xiǎopéngyǒu kān zhāo māma, kū zhāo shūo: "Māma, qǐng nǐ gěi wǒ huàn yīgè yīshēng bā, tā lián nǎge shì ěrduo, nǎge shì bízi dōu bùzhīdào, zěnme gěi wǒ kànbìng ā!"

QW still never fails to surprise. Great tool. I have also noticed that many words are appearing again in different contexts which is very helpful in anchoring them in one's memory. I dont know if this is because my vocabulary is increasing, coincidence, or intentional on cpod's part, but either way its a good thing. I would like to think its intentional.

The way I use QW is to listen first to the individual sentences using the radio buttons on the dialogue page, without viewing the translations. Once I can understand them all (sometimes I have to peek at a few definitiions) I listen to the lesson While following along with the hanzi. Then listen without following but say the sentences out loud. Lather, rinse, repeat. Always some new goodies in QW. It is one of my favorite parts of the cpod method. A gem they should be proud of.

Thanks ned, you said it well but based on other observations I have made, I would be very surprised if any chinese teachers (female) choose to illuminate.
