Well, you know that 来不及 means "to not make it in time," right? The pattern (快) 要…… 了 is used to express that something "is going to happen." So, together, "我要来不及了" means "I'm not going to make it on time."
The implication is "I need to leave now, (otherwise) I'm not going to make it on time."
The unstated social context is that someone has to leave a group gathering before everyone else in order to make a private appointment.

I'll recycle my response from another thread, if you don't mind:
We do make reference to [lists and frequency] statistics, but there are no resources publicly available for spoken Chinese (the ones that exist are held privately by universities). To do this right, you would not a large corpus of spoken Chinese, and unfortunately, that does not exist right now.
So we can reference other (written) corpora, and also refer to teachers' experience and native speaker intuition.

November 4, 2010 at 1:50 AMThe pattern is A 不 AB for adjectives. It's totally acceptable in the mainland for any two-character adjective we can think of (including 安静). It's not related to 离合词.

November 11, 2010 at 2:25 AMWe haven't tailored our content to match the HSK, and our idea of "high frequency" is sometimes at odds with the HSK content. But if you learned ALL of CPod's content, you could do well on the HSK, even if you hadn't learned every single word on the test.
Still, to do really well on the Advanced HSK, you need to be able to read Chinese relatively rapidly, which means you would need lots of reading practice. For that, you would likely turn to other resources in addition to ChinesePod, such as online news, etc.
