I've been in a situation where I needed to yell 下车 (xiàchē) to the driver many, many times.

The biggest challenge, I find, is just being loud enough.

That's interesting... Having or not having the 输入法 you're used to at the testing center could possibly make a difference in the outcome of the test, no?
