Anne, Yes, 三八 (sān bā) is a derogatory term for women, implying nosiness, noisiness, and just general bitchiness. I can't read German, but from what I understand, the word did not really come from 三八三八妇女节 (Sān-Bā Fùnǚjié) as the Danwei TV episode implies.

Anne, Thanks a lot! I wasn't heavily involved in the ChinesePod redesign specifics, but one thing I can make sure of is that the lessons stay good!

tsinping, 二百五 (érbǎi wǔ) means 250. 二百五十 (èrbǎi wǔshí) also means 250. 205 must be expressed as 二百零五 (érbǎi líng wǔ), as Bazza says. It takes some time to get used to it, but once you do, the system is really convenient. Some other examples: 六百八 (liùbǎi bā) 680 三千七 (sānqiān qī) 3700 一万二 (yīwàn èr) 12,000

AlexYe, The word you're talking about is "xūxū," a baby talk word meaning "go pee-pee." It's written 嘘嘘 (xūxū).

Anne, Yeah, it's true... this lesson is understandable by students of most levels. The "dialogue" pretty much speaks for itself! I decided to classify it as Upper Intermediate because it's likely at that level that you'll actually begin to be able to use onomatopoeia in full sentences. But it sure makes for a fun lesson! :)
