September 30, 2009 at 2:07 AMI concur with tal on the connectivity issues. We've even been having problems with Google Docs.
I was in Beijing two weekends ago, and the security measures being put into place for the 60th anniversary are quite extreme.

I'm glad some other users found it amusing, but you're right that this is not the kind of high-quality content you're paying for. I have replaced the Audio Review file with a normal one.
For all of you that snagged it, you can hang onto it as "rare and bizarre memorabilia"... I'll be doing my best to make sure we don't have more of these.

Ha ha... "perhaps it is getting better"?? Reminds me of the famous Monty Python scene...
To answer your question, yes, 生吃 (shēngchī) does apply to raw meat and vegetables, and that's definitely the more common usage!

September 27, 2009 at 8:57 AMNot a problem! All the important words in the dialogues should be in the key vocabulary, so you're very right to call our attention to these instances. You're clearly a motivated student, and we're happy to help you in your studies.

Yes, we're dedicated, but it's also a workday in the PRC today. We go on vacation for 8 days starting on Thursday. (Yes, it's a very strange government-mandated schedule...)

We've always had a varied lineup for the Advanced lessons. Teachers in the past have included Jenny, Aggie, Connie, Xiao Xia, Le Guan, Jiaojie, and now David. One change is that Jenny won't always host every Advanced lesson, but it's not going to be the same two teachers for every lesson.

I agree with your points. I'll have the team add the words in.
男子 (nánzǐ) is correct.

I don't think the staff would see it as disrespectful. They just get really puzzled about why you would so carelessly leave money around.
