October 11, 2011 at 7:02 PMYep, shuo1guo is as it is pronounced. I'm not sure about the niceties of pinyin rules, so I'm not sure if it is standard to express it as shuo1guo in the written form - cf. bu4guo4 (as written) pronounced bu2guo4, or yi1 ding3 mao4zi ( pronounced yi4 ding3 ... )
I can't publicise my address for fear of being inundated by fan mail, so just write out an IOU and send it up the chimney like I do with Santa, please.

October 9, 2011 at 7:10 PM只 is mistranscribed in the first grammar sentence. 只 when pronounced with a first tone is often used as a measure word for some animals and birds eg. 一只(zhi1)狗. 只 should have been transcribed zhi3, as it has the meaning of 'only' here ( pronounced as zhi2, incidentally, because it directly preceeds xi3 ).
I think your second point is about the loss of tone on 过. That's common practice for aspectual suffixes, eg. 看过 (kan4guo). It also happens in many other situations eg. 我不知道 (wo3 bu4 zhi1dao4) but 我知道 (wo3 zhi1 dao), 给我看看 (gei3 wo3 kan4kan) - reduplicated verbs lose their tone on the 2nd syllable.
In fact 我喜欢他 (wo3 xi3huan ta1) - not pronounced as xi3huan1 - is fine, as you can see from the first grammar sentence
No need to thank; a cheque in the post will be sufficient recompense.

October 3, 2011 at 10:14 AMWhy are native americans called Indians ? Because the first transatlantic european explorers were looking for an easier way to the east ( for trade ) than around the Horn of Africa. When they encountered native americans they thought they had found the passage to India and considered they looked like people from India; interesting, due to the native americans predominantly mongolian racial background. If you look at old west photos of native americans, and even older portraits, you can see mongolian traits (eg. eye-folds, broad faces), but there are significant differences, eg. large, even Roman noses + mongolians tend to be of short stocky stature, but many plains tribesmen were tall, taller even than the europeans.

September 15, 2011 at 5:54 PMI believe that the chinese got the concept of zero from the India ( where it was given the familiar symbol 0 ), as did the arabs, who passed it on to the europeans together with their system of numbers.

September 14, 2011 at 6:51 PMGot it. 穿 has the sense of 'to put on' rather than 'to wear' here, and is an 'Action Verb'.

September 14, 2011 at 1:28 PMIn 我怎么只穿了内裤 how do we know the 了 is for completion, and not a new situation ? If he's in a dream, his outer garments could just have vanished, leaving him in his knickers. In that case, would the new situation 了 be at the end of the sentence ? Also, could the completion 了 be placed at the end of the sentence too ?
