March 14, 2021 at 10:29 PMI found this video quite effective in the way elements are explained, Carly has a very clear way of explaining contents. However I would add some more exercise and I would skip the intro which seems a bit long. It would be nice in the part in which explains a.m./p.m. in contrast with 上午/下午 to show a real image of Chinese restaurant opening time table instead of a frame of a restaurant life.

I especially enjoyed the cultural connection which could help students not just to enlarge their knowledge about Mandarin but also about Chinese culture. Well done Carly!

March 13, 2021 at 12:43 AMThe video is well-structured, and the association of images to characters can really help students who are just starting to approach to Mandarin. It could be useful, however, if at the end of the video it would appear a list of the characters have been explained or to collocate the in the pictures she has shown before. Both 出口 and 入口 could be showed for example in a subway sign or in a traffic sign. I believe that visualise them in context could help recognise them.
