I'm sure that would be fine for each episode or at least to refer to it in general. Not so sure you could apply it to refer to the whole series.

Instinctively, for this sort of shows I would use "program" (US) or "programme" (GB).

the third sentence in the wikipedia article you linked to is where I got the question from:
Host Jeff Probst claimed the show was the "first full American TV series to be filmed entirely within the People's Republic of China"
series is a pretty general word I reckon. This first definition is the best I think:
"a group or a number of related or similar things, events, etc., arranged or occurring in temporal, spatial, or other order or succession; sequence."
In this situation I s'pose you'd apply b:
"Radio and Television.
a.
a daily or weekly program with the same cast and format and a continuing story, as a soap opera, situation comedy, or drama.
b.
a number of related programs having the same theme, cast, or format: a series of four programs on African wildlife."

hehe, excellent.I can spy a debate coming on [just what my 中年脑需要】。By "actually" are you implying that because it's a reality show as you rightly suggest this is not a valid answer to my original question?

Hi Bababardwan,
With the help of IMDB, here is the list of the earliest English-Language TV Series with Location matching "China" :
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?languages=en&locations=china&sort=year&title_type=tv_series
In this list of 80 TV Series with at least one scene filmed in China, there's maybe a TV Serie wholly filmed in China but I didn't check very deeply.

不对
A quick look didn't look like any of them were "wholly" filmed in China. The first example had an episode filmed in:
China Lake Naval Air Station, China Lake, California, USA
...which is why it came up under the search.
你再试试吧;加油 :)
