July 28, 2009, 01:59 PM posted in General Discussion我当然不可能跳舞, 可是最近我们看着一个节目叫‘So you think you can dance'.
How do you translate 'So You Think You Can Dance?'
Anyone know how to say Morris dancing?

July 29, 2009, 02:39 AMMorris dancing is 莫里斯舞,it's transliteration of "Morris dancing"
我也试试看, it's a program name, so I'll put it this way. "So you think you can dance!" 跳舞,你能!But I googled, the program is simply called 美版舞林大会,(that's American version dancing competition) :(

July 29, 2009, 10:47 AMThanks guys! Your analysis of my 'simple' question is so much fun.
@miantiao
Mate, modesty doesn't suit you! As soon as I see your avatar I reach for my Oxford Concise and learn words I never knew existed. I look at your sentence construction and say 'wow, can you really say that?' Promise I'm not having a lend, I look forward to your take on all kinds of matters.
I love your analysis of what is really a pretty crappy show.

hehe, not too sure about the limelight translation, i remember reading it somewhere but i've lost it.
yeah mate, 6 billion opinions in the world and counting, mine are just part of the many in the great sheep dip of diatribes ;-)
i've been trying to be more tactful and concilliatory and have sacrificed a few branches off of my hybrid olive tree in the process.
