haha, I concede you're right. I'm living in China at the moment, so that helps a lot. But I'd still say almost all of my 'learning' comes from using Chinesepod (mainly just listening over and over again to the diologues I've studied). The rest is just practice.

Jenny(1): I think it's probably 平静一下，though 平靖 and 平静 may well be interchangeable.
After that, I think it's ...就可以以很丰富的方法学中文 (I think it's like 以...A...来..B.. - "do/achieve B by means of A" - with the 来 omitted. At least that's the only way I can make sense of that sentence.
