Dilu: Again, 这是一个比较 formal 的词。

John: Notice: 是...的 question - 是...的 answer. So then they start getting down to business about sending someone to the guy's house.

John: Frequently 是...的 is used in a question to emphasize that you want to know a specific detail about something that happened in the past. In this case its 'when did you buy it?'.

John: It typically is send them on a mission to do something.

John: 修, 1st tone again, that's 'fix'. You'll notice that the customer service rep used 维修, and then the actual person making the call uses 修 - they're being less formal.

John: That's the repair hotline.
Dilu: 没错。
John: In Chinese, 'hotline' is literally 'hot line'.

John: Well its not always so direct, but in this case 热线 is very direct. Two 4th tones.
