Intermediate - Betting on the Boss

John: So we have an office situation, and what are they talking about?
John: So they're making a bet.
John: Two 3rd tones.
John: So see if you can listen in and figure out what they're betting on.
John: And at the end we have this 嘛. This isn't the yes/no question 嘛, this is the 'stating the obvious' 嘛.
John: Its obvious.
John: So just now you said 'one of the coworkers 猜'. That's 1st tone, and it means 'to guess'.
John: And her guess was that the boss did what?
John: 吵架 means 'to get in an argument'.
John: What are the tones there?
John: So you 跟 somebody 吵架.
John: In this case, the other person is ...
John: So that's the boss's wife?
John: It doesn't mean 'female boss'?
Dilu: 其实也可以。在［些］小店里面，老板跟老板的老婆，两个人都是老板，所以我们也不知道到底这个female boss是这个owner呢，还是说她是这个boss的老婆。
John: I see. But in this case, we're talking about the boss's wife, and she's called ...
John: But the other girl doesn't think that's it.
John: So the two of them are so good together, they couldn't possibly be arguing. How did she say 'the two of them'?

John: So that girl guesses that, what?
John: 生意 means 'business', but how do you explain this whole phrase?
John: 'Talk business' or do some kind of business deal.
John: Could be successful or unsuccessful.
John: 谈成 means ...
John: So 谈成功.
John: So her guess is that some kind of business deal didn't succeed - it fell through or something.
John: Is this guy saying that they're bored or boring?
John: 'Are you guys bored or what? You must be really bored if you're [spending time] ...
