Hi Waiguoren,

"fair-dinkum" - Ha ha, great word! And thanks for the compliment, though if I possess any ability in Chinese, it's really just down to hours and hours of listening (mainly to CPod dialogues) rather than any natural talent :)

Dinosaurs - An excellent choice! Maybe even a CPod classic and another of my favourites. I'll try to help out if I can.

I think when transcribing it's only really useful if you're listening to something that challenges you, so definitely time for you to get into the UI lessons.

And don't worry about finishing this one off. It's actually the dialogue itself (which I found really funny and thought was really well acted out) that I particularly enjoyed, rather than anything in the lesson explanations. And anyway, I've been pretty busy over the last few days so no time for study :(

加油朋友!

Toianw, your knowledge of Chinese is fair-dinkum unbelievable!

I kind of feel bad for finishing your favourite UI Less off, and at first the thought of transcribing a whole UI appeared very daunting, but then I thought 'stuff it, why not'? I'll start with the Dinosaur lesson, but I think I will be taking it 一步 at a time...

Hi mate. Yes, I thought the "na" should be a "ne" in terms of my grammar knowledge and the context, but to my ear it definitely sounded more "na" than "ne". I'll go with my gut instinct in future. Yes, I did smile at happening across the 30 second segment that included ostrich. I hadn't listened or read the dialogue prior to doing the transcript so was quite chuffed that I picked it up! And thanks for clarifying the "官府中" versus "管服装" - i was wondering what "feudal official" had to do with anything!

Hi Chirs, Good to see you :)

Jenny(1): 那可能贵族他们的衣服上面特别[以前]欧洲的就会有一些羽毛之类的

Jenny(2): 啊,所以这[个]导演就觉得他们的服装很像鸵鸟,[就 - I think]穿了以后很像一个鸵鸟

Jenny(4): 【官府中】 = 管服装

【管】- I agree

BTW, in the middle of these two, there's 对话里面那, Not that it's too important, but I'm pretty sure the 那 is a 呢. Whenever you get a subject raised ( 对话里面), then a pause and an explanation of it or some extra information about it, you can be pretty sure it's a 呢 right before the pause. It's really, really common in these lesson explanations.

Thanks for coming on board, Chris! Surely it was worth it just to hear the word 鸵鸟, right? I can't quite pinpoint why, but 鸵鸟 is definitely one of my favourite words in the Chinese language. :)
