The 上 would definitely make more sense...still struggling with 想/像 and 上 when transcribing...

Dilu was wanting to know what we thought of Chinese stereotypes, not what we thought of CPod, so I think she was asking us to come onto [shang...shangwang] the CPod website and leave our comments about it. And duo shang was encouraging lots to come on and leave comments [I think they've heard her call]

Dilu: 对， 啊不过不用太【单行】因为这个词我们平时用的很小，也比较书面
John: Yeah, you don't have to really memorise this, but if you really, really want to talk about stereotypes, you can memorise this word or phrase

John: OK, so they is a way to translate it, just keep in mind it's not commonly used, but it's a pretty good translation if you have to have a translation for stereotype. What is it?
Dilu: 刻板印象，刻板印象
John: Now 印象, two forth tones, that means impression, right?
Dilu: 对， 哪印象【先】面还有一个词叫刻板， 刻板。第四声和第三声
John: OK, fourth and third 刻板

John: Yeah exactly, defying the stereotypes. So we wanted to do a lesson on stereotypes and talking about it before this lesson we noticed something strange which the Chinese people don't tend to use the word 'stereotype'

John: It's not stereotypes - it's facts, huh?

John: I know a girl in Shanghai she's from France, her name was [O XX] and she tells me that every time she meets a Chinese person, she tells them 我是法国人
Dilu: 啊
John: Their response is always...
Dilu: 法国人都很浪漫
John: Yeah, and it drives her crazy

John: She also doesn't like cheese, if you can believe that

Now I'm curious. I guess you're right..southern accent..I know they're zh's often do sound more like just z's. I'd like to know for sure which she was saying. Is it only context that will dictate which it is?

Thanks for the belief mate. Must admit after the hard slog of the recent UI transcripts, it's quite nice coming back to a few Intermediates - if only for the feelgood factor in terms of how much this transcribing lark has benefited my listening comprehension. And yes, hopefully a lesson transcript will help those Eles looking to make the jump.
