John: OK, so they is a way to translate it, just keep in mind it's not commonly used, but it's a pretty good translation if you have to have a translation for stereotype. What is it?

Dilu: 刻板印象,刻板印象

John: Now 印象, two forth tones, that means impression, right?

Dilu: 对, 哪印象【先】面还有一个词叫刻板, 刻板。第四声和第三声

John: I know a girl in Shanghai she's from France, her name was [O XX] and she tells me that every time she meets a Chinese person, she tells them 我是法国人

John: Their response is always...

Now I'm curious. I guess you're right..southern accent..I know they're zh's often do sound more like just z's. I'd like to know for sure which she was saying. Is it only context that will dictate which it is?

Thanks for the belief mate. Must admit after the hard slog of the recent UI transcripts, it's quite nice coming back to a few Intermediates - if only for the feelgood factor in terms of how much this transcribing lark has benefited my listening comprehension.
