相传女娲是一位人首蛇身的女神。
xiāngchuán Nǚwā shì yī wèi rénshǒushéshēn de nǚshén 。
According to legend, Nu Wa was a goddess with a human upper-body and the lower-body of a snake.
自盘古开天辟地以后，她就在天地间到处游走。所到之处，都呈现出一片美好景象。山川河流，花草树木，鸟语花香，野兽成群。
zì Pángǔ kāitiānpìdì yǐhòu ，tā jiù zài tiāndì jiān dàochù yóuzǒu 。suǒdào zhīchù ，dōu chéngxiàn chū yī piàn měihǎo jǐngxiàng 。shānchuān héliú ，huācǎoshùmù ，niǎoyǔhuāxiāng ，yěshòu chéng qún 。
Ever since Pan Gu had separated heaven and earth, she'd been wandering throughout the world. Wherever she went, beautiful scenes emerged. There were mountains and rivers, plants and trees, birds chirping, fragrant flowers, and large packs of wild animals.
但她总觉得心中有一种说不出的寂寞。与草木倾吐心事时，草木听不懂她的话，跟鸟兽诉说烦躁时，鸟兽不了解她的苦恼。
dàn tā zǒng juéde xīnzhōng yǒu yī zhǒng shuōbuchū de jìmò 。yǔ cǎomù qīngtǔ xīnshì shí ，cǎomù tīngbudǒng tā de huà ，gēn niǎoshòu sùshuō fánzào shí ，niǎoshòu bù liǎojiě tā de kǔnǎo 。
But she felt in her heart an inexplicable sense of loneliness. When she poured out her heart to the plants and trees, they couldn't understand her; when she related her sorrows to the birds and beasts, they couldn't understand her suffering.
她意识到原来是世界上少了一种像它一样的生物。
tā yìshi dào yuánlái shì shìjiè shàng shǎo le yī zhǒng xiàng tā yīyàng de shēngwù 。
She realized that in fact the world lacked a living thing that resembled herself.
