It was only after taking a Chinese wife that I really got a grip on what Chinese people call filial piety. It's really quite different from how our Western families interact.

那您还真是位贴心的好先生！说到孝道，这历史可谓是源远流长，春秋时期的论语、礼记就已经记载了大量的孝悌之义。
nà nín hái zhēn shì wèi tiēxīn de hǎo xiānsheng ！shuōdào xiàodào ，zhè lìshǐ kěwèi shì yuányuǎnliúcháng ，chūnqiū shíqī de Lúnyǔ 、lǐjì jiù yǐjīng jìzǎi le dàliàng de xiàotì zhī yì 。
Then you really are a considerate husband! Talking of filial piety, it has what you could call a long history. The Analects of Confucius and the Book of Rites recorded a lot about filial piety and fraternal duty during the Spring and Autumn period.
