āyō ，gānggāng zài jiǔbā ménkǒu pèngjiàn hǎojǐ ge qǐgài 。dōu shì xiǎo háizi ，kànzhe tài kělián le 。kěshì gěi le yīge ，jiù wéi shànglái yīduī 。wǒ bǎ língqián dōu gěi guāng le 。
Oh, man. Just now at the entrance to the bar I bumped into a bunch of beggars. They're all little kids, and they seem really pathetic. But if you give something to one of them, they all pile on around you. I gave out all my spare change.
上海的乞丐已经算是少的了。基本上都在外国人多的地方出没。 还有就是过年前，会涌进来一批，主要是赚点过年钱。
Shànghǎi de qǐgài yǐjīng suànshì shǎo de le 。jīběnshang dōu zài wàiguó rén duō de dìfang chūmò 。 háiyǒu jiùshì guònián qián ，huì yǒng jìnlái yīpī ，zhǔyào shì zhuàn diǎn guònián qián 。
There aren't actually that many beggars in Shanghai. Most of them pop up at places with a lot of foreigners. And then right before the New Year, a bunch of them flood in. Mainly, they want to earn some money for celebrating the new year.
看来他们还挺会挑时机的。那，其它城市的乞丐很多吗？
kànlai tāmen hái tǐng huì tiāo shíjī de 。nà ，qítā chéngshì de qǐgài hěn duō ma ？
Seems like they're really good at timing their opportunities. So, are there a lot of beggars in other cities?
有些城市的乞丐都是互相勾结瓜分地盘的。他们有严密的组织，会用各种年龄的人，各种方式去乞讨。反正就是无所不在。
yǒu xiē chéngshì de qǐgài dōu shì hùxiāng gōujié guāfēn dìpán de 。tāmen yǒu yánmì de zǔzhī ，huì yòng gèzhǒng niánlíng de rén ，gèzhǒng fāngshì qù qǐtǎo 。fǎnzhèng jiùshì wúsuǒbùzài 。
Beggars in some cities are organized. They split up their turf. They have a strict organization. They'll use all ages of people, and all kinds of methods, to beg. Anyway, they're everywhere.
