January 09, 2010, 07:15 AMI live in Melbourne Australia where the greater Chinese population is from the south and or from Hong Kong. I have found the zh' r' sh' x' sounds very different from the North China sounds. But I have heard Southeners talking to Northeners without any problems in communication. Just my thoughts. October 01, 2010, 01:23 AM我和他是好朋友。The translation says (I am good friends with him.). Could that also mean we are good friends, as in "I and him are good friends" or would that just be 我们是很好朋友？I guess I'm asking if there is a way of knowing when to translate 和 as "and" or "with"?
