Yeah, that would be useful. My name is Neil and I have been called 鸟 niao (3rd tone), but I didn't like the 4th tone version so never used it...

Are there any standard foreigner names? I think it is 尼尔 Nier, I assume that sounds ok :)

I don't think Diageo owns a single brand that needs advertisement in the West. It is hard for me to imagine a brand like Johnny Walker needing an introduction in China.

I really hope that the productions help the Whisky ecosystem, and that symbiotically other great non-Diageo brands find a market over there. It would be a great loss to the Chinese if a mono-culture of brands got established.

Thanks cy, as ever, sometimes the longer structure is easier to understand, at the expense of fluency.

I would be happy if I could remember either :D

我是银行的! Funny that sentence even makes sense. I am the bank!

I get spammy phishing calls now and then...

"Hello, this is your bank."

OH ~HAI~ THERE MY BANK.

The sad thing is, my Dad seems to be quitesusceptibleto people calling him up saying they are his phone provider and so on.

Why didn't we get the backing track as a bonus download. What a great lesson!

I love beard related lessons, there was a good debate in this lesson about the characters and history - if memory servers me correct: http://chinesepod.com/lessons/dreams-of-the-departed-陇西行

I nearly always wear a beard, and I am told not to shave it off, because I don't look 'Scottish' without it. I find the people who have problems with beards to be quite interesting.

I get a bit of beard envy sometimes when I see an awesome gigantic beard - but the people who seem to have the time to dedicate to beard growth seem to fall into the same part of the population that have no free time to shower. Perhaps this is behind the issue.

To celebrate beards, I am going to change my avatar.

Tee hee Lily, most may be hard working. I have always been proud of not following the crowd!

Looking forward to the new series! Thanks all!

I had a quick look at the event site - I am really looking forward to the talk podcasts. I think that is a fantastic effort just there.

There was an article about my home town in the New York Times a couple of days ago... Funnily enough, I was working for the Local Fire and Rescue when the FOI (Freedom of Information) request came in asking for statistics about this 'tonic'.
