Hi Sonicer,

although not about Chinese I would like to take the liberty to point out the incorrect use of the word 'there' in your sentence  ..........."young girls can do this to there boy friend or there parents." The correct use in this context is "their". It is a mistake often made by many English speaking people as well. The confusion arises from the 3 words that are pronounced the same:                                                        There (indicating position)                              Their (belonging to them) 

They're(they are)

Thought this might help if you are not a native English speaker.

Ken's environmental philosophy is admirable. I wish he could convince the hordes of Chinese people to think likewise.

Over here we can buy green or pink re-useable carry bags made from fabric. They are just as convenient and don't tear so easily.

In Chengdu I once wanted to try out the hairdresser in the street, but my hosts would not let me. It would have been too embarassing and demeaning for them. Fortunately in our free thinking country we do not have such class distinctions.

Ah, we have a comedian amongst us. He poses as a grumblebum and does it so convincingly that he gets everybody to react to his comments. Who knows, one day he might become America's top funny man. Worth a laugh but not to be taken seriously.
