The phrase "tell a joke" was given as 讲笑话 and "tell a story" as 讲故事. What is a common way to bring up in conversation that you want to tell someone a joke (or a story)? Would it be something like 我给你讲个笑话(故事) or 我想给你讲个笑话(故事)?

Following up on some posts by xuchen, chris, and jimk, for the following sentence:
"In the summer, it rains almost every day"
it is clear that I wouldn't use 差一点 here, and I think that 左右 should only used to mean "approximately" when comparing with a number. Is 差不多 the appropriate way to express almost to modify "every day", or is it something else entirely?
