May 9, 2008 at 2:18 AMCertainly, Sichuan food is hot. I have noticed that Sichuanese food includes a healthy dose of 'huajiao,' creating a numbing effect in my mouth. However, if you would like to know of another very spicy province, check out Yunnan Province, just north of Vietnam and Thailand. This food also includes much 'lajiao,' creating a four-alarm fire in one's mouth.
