Loved the kids voice - goes well with Autie68's nephew posting comments - I'll join with the fun, and say that indeed, 我会唱歌- in fact, you can check it out for yourself - a song I wrote about my lovely province Yunnan, - go to youtube, type in "lovely Yunnan" or my name, (Kim Lytton) and do some on line sightseeing in Yunnan!

Hey John or Jenny, I'm late getting to this lesson, don't know if you'll answer - I've studied before and used the 没想到 phrase, but how do you say the opposite? In English we would say "I expected that." Is there a way to say it?

Hey - if you're coming to Kunming, we have a great new coffee bar and restaurant - called Chicago Coffee, with great pix of the city and wonderful atmosphere. Find it on the web or google.

Hi misterjess - the south is famous for interchanging the l and the n, so if you heard na, they probably meant la.

I haven't done chinese pod for a few days due to illness, and now I open it and it's about.... earthquakes. How unbelievable. Here in Kunming, we were shook pretty badly - ceiling tiles falling, pictures swaying... but I'm with auntie 68 - I'm really heartbroken for the families who've lost loved ones - and the count is still rising.

I live in Kunming, where, oddly, when they say a jin here, they don't mean a half gong jin, they always mean a gong jin. If they think you're from out of town, they'll clarify by saying gong jin but they tell me this is the 1 place in China where it's a slightly different measure! So heads up travelers, if you ask for a jin, you'll get what if normally a gong jin!

Hi Changye, yeah, I got confused on the order too - they explained it one way but we heard it in a different order. An engineering mistake, I guess
